Congrats both to my friend Jack Muldowney for launching his new beer blog, www.thehopreview.com, and to Ale Syndicate for building out their new brewery in a raw “green” space just at the edge of Logan’s Square and Avondale neighborhoods of Chicago. I loved tasting their Summer Session brew, and keep an eye out for their label making into bars this summer.
Thanks Wonderful Machine for featuring me today!

Photographing the two talented ladies behind the new label Remi Canarie for CS was such a pleasure. I love their knits mixed with sheers- you can go from super comfy and easily switch to your night out. They are both so sweet and humble but are taking Chicago by storm, soon to head to the East Coast.

Here’s an image I took for NS Magazine’s story on Kristi Piccolo, the youngest daughter of the Chicago Bears running back Brian Piccolo who lost his battle to cancer at the young age of 26. His legacy lives on with the film Brian’s Song and their organization, the Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Foundation.
Interesting New York Times story on "Do Millennials Stand a Chance in the Real World?"
As the article states Laurie Davis is Chicago’s queen of vintage. I photographed Laurie in her new store, LuLu’s on the Avenue, at the 900 North Michigan shops. Laurie is incredibly passionate and knowledgable about the stories behind each piece in her store that I was be completely mesmerized; I could have sat there all day listening. She’s lovely, passionate, intelligent, and a strong businesswoman- which I may have a minor girl crush…
Here’s a portrait of Cathy Busch for NS Magazine I recently did. She’s a very down-to-earth woman for having such a sparkling resume that gleams previous Press Secretary and Director of Public Affairs for the Reagan Administration, former Red Cross President, and currently Vice President of Sotheby’s Chicago. We photographed Cathy at the Botanic Gardens as she is generous supporter and somehow manages to find time to plan the Antiques & Garden Show they have every year. She really does it all, and I admire her greatly.
